Who was bigger great white shark or cretoxyrhina?
The Great White Shark (Carcharodon carcharias) is the largest predatory fish in the world. It is currently the dominant species of Lamniformes, and is the only living member of its genus, Carcharodon. The Cretoxyrhina mantelli is an extinct species of mackerel sharks, which inhabited the oceans during the Late Cretaceous Period. It was one of the largest sharks of its time, and is estimated to have reached lengths of up to 8 metres (26 ft), although a few teeth fossils suggest the presence of individuals exceeding 10 m (33 ft). However, the maximum size of Carcharocles megalodon is still larger than Cretoxyrhina, with average maximum length of 16 m (53 ft).
