* Rivers and Lakes: Melting snow and ice contribute to the formation of numerous rivers and lakes, which are freshwater sources.
* Limited Saltwater Intrusion: Due to their inland location and the absence of significant tidal influence, saltwater intrusion is minimal.
While there might be some minor occurrences of saltwater in isolated areas, the vast majority of water in the taiga is freshwater.
