Instructions

    • 1

Set up a marine tank consisting of no less than 100 gallons of salt water with a salinity of 32 to 34 ppt. A protein skimmer and heavy filtration are required due to the large amount of food needed; grouper are messy eaters and will leave a lot of food particles in the water. A good filtration system will help to minimize the amount of water changes needed.

    • 2

Complete regular water changes, between 15% and 30%, weekly to avoid nitrate buildup in the tank due to the groupers feeding habits.

    • 3

Feed the grouper live shrimp or other small fish. Flake food and pellets will not keep your groupers alive. You can use frozen shrimp, but live shrimp and live fish will keep your grouper active and healthier.

    • 4

Keep only one species of grouper and do not overcrowd the tank. You should keep just 1 to 3 grouper in a 100-gallon tank.
