Instructions
Put your yellow tangs in a very large aquarium. Tropical fish breeders recommend using a tank that is at least 200 gallons.
Place several pieces of live coral in your tank. The idea is to stimulate the yellow tangs' natural environment.
Make sure you place several breeding pairs in the tank. The more pairs you have, the more likely you are to get at least one of the pairs to breed. Your group of yellow tangs should be raised together, when yellow tangs are introduced to one another they can sometimes become aggressive.
Feed your yellow tangs tropical fish food that is formulated for herbivores. You will have to feed them at least three times a day.
Set up a brand new filter for your fish tank and have a second filter on hand in case the first on breaks. The filter is responsible not only for keeping the water circulating in your tank but also eliminates waste, uneaten food particles and other toxins that are in the water. It's already difficult to breed yellow tangs, and a build up of toxins in the water will kill the offspring as soon as they are born.
How to Breed Yellow Tangs
Yellow tangs are brilliant yellow, dish shaped tropical fish. In the wild, they are usually found living in the coral reefs between Japan and Hawaii. Although fish lovers have had very little success breeding yellow tangs in captivity there are some things that you can do to encourage your adult tangs to make babies.
