Nandu primarily feed on plant matter, including fruits, leaves, and roots. They also eat insects, such as grasshoppers and beetles, and small vertebrates, such as lizards and rodents.
Habitat:
Nandu are found in open grasslands, savannas, and scrublands. They prefer areas with a mixture of tall grass and short shrubs, and they avoid dense forests and other habitats with thick underbrush. Nandu are largely terrestrial birds and spend most of their time on the ground. They are typically found in small groups of 10 to 20 individuals, but larger flocks can sometimes be seen.
