What is the life span of fresh water bream?
Bream (Abramis brama) have an average lifespan of around 15 to 20 years, with some individuals potentially living up to 40 years. They are relatively long-lived among freshwater fish species. However, their actual lifespan in the wild can vary due to environmental conditions, food availability, predation, and natural causes like health and genetic makeup. Factors such as pollution, habitat degradation, fishing practices, and competition or interactions with other species in the ecosystem can also influence their survival and longevity.
