What do guitar fish eat?
Guitarfish feed primarily on small bony fishes, crustaceans and mollusks. They locate their prey by detecting water currents generated by their prey's movements, and use their electrosensors to detect electrical fields generated by the prey. Guitarfish often hunt in groups and use their pectoral fins to herd their prey into a tight shoal before feeding on them. They are also known to steal food from other fish, such as sharks and rays, and occasionally scavenge on dead or dying animals.
