What causes a whale footprint oil or vortex of water from fluke?
Whales don't have footprints; they swim through the water using their tails, called flukes. When a whale powerfully expels its flukes out of the water, it creates a splash or water disturbance, not an oil vortex. The movement of the powerful tail, the body mass, shape of the body, and its movements through the water contribute to the patterns observed on the water's surface, including splashes, waves, vortexes, or other visual displays.
