What are fugitive species?
Fugitive species are non-native species that are not yet widely established in a particular region. They are a type of invasive species and are often able to outcompete native species for resources, such as food and habitat. Fugitive species are often found in disturbed or human-modified habitats, such as roadsides, construction sites, and vacant lots. These species are often able to spread rapidly and can quickly become a major problem.
