Where do chimps live?

Chimpanzees live in tropical forests and woodlands of sub-Saharan Africa. They are found in a range of habitats, including:

* Central Africa: Republic of Congo, Gabon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Central African Republic, and parts of Angola

* West Africa: Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Benin, and Nigeria

* East Africa: Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda

Chimpanzees are highly social animals and live in groups of 10-100 individuals called troops. They are omnivores with a diet that includes fruits, leaves, insects, and small animals.

There are two recognized subspecies of chimpanzees:

* Common chimpanzee (Pan troglodytes): Found throughout most of their range

* Bonobo (Pan paniscus): Found only in the Democratic Republic of Congo
