Where does a chital deer live?
The chital deer, also known as the spotted deer or the axis deer, is a species of deer native to the Indian subcontinent. It is widely distributed in India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and has been introduced to other countries such as Australia, Madagascar, and the United States. Chital deer typically inhabit moist and dry deciduous forests, scrublands, and grasslands, often near water bodies. They are also known to inhabit areas with seasonal rainfall, as well as hilly and mountainous regions.
