Instructions

Store everything, especially sugar, in tightly sealed containers. Ants are so tiny that they can get into anything. Make sure your container lids are all airtight.

    • 2

Wipe all of the containers off daily. If you use sugar containers for coffee or tea, be sure to wipe them off with a damp cloth every time you dip into them for sugar. Immediately rinse out any coffee cups and tea or soda glasses.

    • 3

Wash all of the counter tops and surfaces down with a vegetable oil-based cleaner and hot water and dry thoroughly. If ants are present, pay close attention to their trail and be sure to soap, rinse and dry that area well.

    • 4

Sprinkle a small amount of cream of tartar behind canisters and other out-of-sight places. This cooking ingredient is not harmful to anyone who touches it, but ants do not like it and will quickly look for another home.

    • 5

Continue being diligent in immediately wiping all surfaces that get the smallest amount of anything sweet spilled on it. When the sweet source is totally gone, the ants will go too.
