Instructions

    • 1

Place your ripe banana, brown sugar, stale beer and assorted fruit into your zip plastic bag. Leave the bag on a hard surface. Crush the bag with your hands as if you were kneading bread until the ingredients are a non solid mixture.

    • 2

Place the bag with the mixture into an area that is at least 70 degrees F and let it sit for two days.

    • 3

Take your attractant bag to a nearby tree around 5 p.m. and paint a broad swath on the tree (about 12 by 12 inches) with your mixture using your paint brush. Ensure you don't spill any of your mixture on the ground (you'll attract ants instead) and paint the swath roughly where your head is vertically to the tree.

    • 4

Return any time from 10 p.m. to midnight and slowly shine your flashlight on the tree where you painted the mixture. The tree will be swarmed by an entire assortment of moths from the local area due to the mixture, and you will be able to observe and examine the creatures in their natural habitat.
