1. Park your car and turn off the engine. Ensure the parking brake is engaged.
2. Locate the gear shift lever. It is usually in the center console between the driver and passenger seats.
3. Pull up on the gear shift lever to put it in the neutral position.
4. Grip the gear gaiter at the base and pull it upwards, towards the roof of the car. It should come off easily.
5. If the gear gaiter is stuck, you may need to gently pry it off using a flat-head screwdriver or a trim removal tool. Be careful not to damage the gearshift lever or the gear gaiter itself.
6. Once the gear gaiter is removed, you can clean it or replace it with a new one.
To reinstall the gear gaiter, simply place it over the gearshift lever and then push it down until it is snug. That's it!
