What does concrete look like?

Concrete is a composite material composed of fine and coarse aggregate bonded together with a fluid cement (cement paste) that hardens (cures) over time.

Color: Concrete is typically gray in color, but can also be produced in a variety of other colors by adding pigments or dyes to the cement paste.

Texture: Concrete can have a smooth or rough texture, depending on the type of finish used. Common finishes include:

- Troweled: A smooth finish created by hand- or machine-troweling the surface of the concrete.

- Broomstick: A rougher finish created by dragging a broomstick or other object across the surface of the concrete.

- Stamped: A finish that gives concrete the appearance of natural stone or other materials by pressing a mold into the surface.

Appearance: The overall appearance of concrete can be further enhanced by adding features such as:

- Exposed aggregate: Concrete that has been specially designed to expose the coarse aggregates, creating a unique and visually interesting surface.

- Polished: Concrete that has been polished to a high shine, creating a smooth and reflective surface.

- Stained: Concrete that has been stained to achieve a desired color or effect.
