What is peacock stone?

Peacock stone, also known as Bornite, is a copper iron sulfide mineral with a chemical formula Cu5FeS4. It is a brittle mineral with a hardness of 5.5 on the Mohs scale. Peacock stone typically has a reddish-brown to iridescent blue-green color and a metallic luster. It is found in hydrothermal veins and contact metamorphic deposits associated with copper and iron ore deposits. Peacock stone is primarily used as an ornamental stone for jewelry and decorative objects, but it can also be used as an ore for extracting copper and iron.
