Materials
- Square sheet of paper (any color)
- Small piece of black paper or marker for the eyes and nose
Instructions:
1. Start with the paper colored side up. Fold in half diagonally both ways and then unfold. Fold in half from top to bottom and then unfold.
2. Fold the right edge to the center crease and then unfold. Fold the left edge to the center crease and then unfold. Fold the bottom edge to the top edge. There should be five sections.
3. Unfold the last step and fold the bottom right corner into the center crease. Repeat with the bottom left corner. Unfold the folds.
4. Fold the paper in half from left to right. Fold the lower left corner to the lower right corner. Unfold. Fold the upper left corner to the upper right corner. Unfold.
5. Pull the folded crease from the previous step to the left and then unfold. Fold the left edge of the paper to the center crease. Fold the right edge to the center crease.
6. Fold the folded creases made in the previous step to the left. Fold the right corner of the paper to the left edge. Unfold. Fold the left corner to the right edge. Unfold.
7. Fold the bottom left corner to the upper left corner. Repeat on the right.
8. Flatten down and fold the lower left corner to the center crease. Fold the left edge of the paper to the center crease. Fold the lower left corner to the center crease. Unfold the folds. Repeat on the right.
9. Fold the paper in half from top to bottom. Fold the left and right edges to the center crease. Fold the tip of the paper down.
10. Use the small piece of black paper to add eyes and a nose to your platypus.
Your origami platypus is now complete!
