Mesulid Nimesulida is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to treat mild to moderate pain. Mesulid reduces pain, fever, and inflammation by inhibiting an enzyme called cyclooxygenase (COX), involved in producing prostaglandins, hormone-like substances involved in the body's response to tissue damage.
Mesulid comes as tablets and an oral suspension (liquid) taken either with or without food. Mesulid is usually taken on an as-needed basis for temporary relief of pain such as muscle aches, backache, joint pain, minor surgery pain, dental pain, fever, menstrual cramps, or the common cold/flu.
