What is the National Costume of Thailand?

The national costume of Thailand for women is the "Chut Thai" or "Thai Silk Costume".

It consists of:

- Aphai (silk tube skirt)

- Sabai (shawl)

- Sue samut phraratchathan (wrap used to cover the chest)

- Dok mai matua with kaset phadung krabiab (floral design on the chignon adorned with a golden crown-shaped comb)

For men, the national costume is the "Raja of Siam Costume".

It consists of:

- A sampot chak phasad (a loincloth that’s worn at a slant)

- A chet thung (a brocaded top)

- A rach sadaeng (waist sash)

- An atthanu (outer skirt)
