Where can you find wild chinchillas?

Wild chinchillas can only be found in the Andes Mountains of Chile and Peru. Specifically, they inhabit the high, rocky, and arid regions of the central Andes, often in areas with sparse vegetation and rocky crevices.

It's important to note that wild chinchillas are an endangered species and their numbers are dwindling due to habitat loss, hunting, and the illegal pet trade. If you encounter one in the wild, please admire it from a distance and do not attempt to approach or capture it.
