How to Save Chinchillas

Chinchillas were originally imported from their native Andes Mountains in South America to be raised for their fur. Thanks to their affectionate personalities and lively antics, they are rapidly growing in popularity as pets. However, although the use of fur as a fashion statement is in decline some people continue to breed chinchillas for their fur. In addition, there are many chinchillas who are homeless and in need of adoption. If you want to help to save chinchillas, here̵7;s how to get started.

Adopt a chinchilla. The very best way to save chinchillas is to provide a home for a chinchilla. You will need to contact a chinchilla rescue organization close to you since most will not ship an animal to you. They work much as the Humane Society does. Usually you pay a modest adoption fee and agree not to breed the chinchilla.
