Why do Hawaiians look like Asians?

Native Hawaiians are not Asians, although they share some similarities with certain Asian populations due to their shared Austronesian heritage. Some similarities include physical characteristics such as dark hair, brown skin, and broad noses, as well as cultural practices such as fishing and canoeing.

The origins of Native Hawaiians can be traced back to Southeast Asia, and their ancestors likely migrated to the Hawaiian islands around 2000 BC. Over the centuries, Native Hawaiians developed a distinct culture and language, and intermarried with other Polynesian groups, such as the Tahitians and Marquesans. This resulted in a diverse population with a range of physical appearances.

While Native Hawaiians share some similarities with certain Asian populations, it is important to recognize their unique heritage and distinct cultural identity.
