How does orangutans breathe?

Orangutans breathe just like humans and most other mammals! Here's how it works:

* Lungs: Orangutans have two lungs, just like us, that are made up of tiny air sacs called alveoli.

* Diaphragm: A large muscle called the diaphragm sits below the lungs and helps them expand and contract.

* Inhalation: When an orangutan wants to breathe in, their diaphragm contracts, pulling air into their lungs.

* Exhalation: When they want to breathe out, the diaphragm relaxes, pushing the air out of their lungs.

Essentially, the process is the same as in humans, but with some adjustments for their larger size and different body structure.

Just like us, orangutans need to breathe oxygen to survive and release carbon dioxide as a byproduct of their metabolism.
