Instructions
Buy red-eyed tree frogs at breeders and specialty retailers. Look for frogs that are bright, healthy and moist, with clear eyes. Buy frogs that are active and relatively friendly.
Buy your frog supplies when you buy the frogs. Purchase crickets and flies as food, gut load supplements, and calcium and Vitamin D powder supplements.
Use a 20-gallon aquarium for one to two red-eyed tree frogs. Set up the aquarium with wood bark substrate, an assortment of branches and plants (available at pet shops), a heater and thermometer, fluorescent light, and a shallow water dish. These frogs are climbers, not swimmers, and need lots of vertical space. You should also be prepared to provide lots of humidity for these tropical creatures by spraying water into the cage regularly.
