Things You'll Need
- Mice
- Tongs
- Gloves (optional)
Instructions
Wait until your pacman frog is large enough to handle a mouse as food. A pacman frog should be twice the size of whatever you are planning to feed them.
Find mice in a pet store. Many stores sell mice in bulk, so that you can stock up on them. Do not feed your pacman frog mice that you have caught in the wild yourself, as they may carry a disease.
Start by feeding your pacman frog small mice to get them used to them. Feed your pacman frog larger mice when they have reached maturity and make sure they gradually work up to the larger-sized mice.
Be careful when feeding, as pacman frogs will bite at anything that moves. The use of tongs is recommended when feeding your frog mice. Some people choose to wear gloves, as well.
Carefully hold the mouse with the tongs. Open the top of the pacman cage, and lower the mouse down directly in front of the pacman frog.
Feed your frog one or two mice, depending on the size of the mice, every ten to fourteen days for optimal growth.
Clean up any remains your frog leaves when you are sure he is through eating.
