Things You'll Need
- Jar with lid
- Net
- Fish tank or pond
- Goldfish food
Instructions
Find some frog spawn in a shallow stream or pond. Frog spawn is a cluster of tiny eggs covered with a jelly-looking substance that makes the eggs float on top of the water. The best time of the year to find frog spawn is usually in March or April in most places.
Use a net to gently remove the frog spawn and place it into a jar filled with stream or pond water.
Transport the frog spawn to another body of water, such as a fish tank or a garden pond.
Feed the tadpoles with tiny pinches of crushed flake goldfish food every day.
Continue to feed your tadpoles as they grow. Once they grow into frogs, you can feed them small creatures such as slugs, maggots, flies and other things.
Set your frogs free once they are fully grown. They will be happier outside in the wild. Then you can start the process all over again.
