Instructions

    • 1

Provide your amphibian friend with an enclosure. Keep juvenile frogs in a glass aquarium that's at least 10 inches wide, 12 inches long and 10 inches tall. House adult frogs in a glass aquarium that's approximately 12 inches wide, 24 inches long and 15 inches tall.

    • 2

Create a dry and wet area in the aquarium. Add dechlorinating drops to tap water to remove the chlorine from it. Provide juveniles with 3 inches of water and adults with 9 inches of water. Slope river rocks in the water so your amphibian pet can easily climb out. Decorate the dry area with plastic pipes, driftwood and terracotta pots so your frog has plenty of hiding spots.

    • 3

Purchase a filtration system to help keep the aquarium water clean. Use a filter that creates minimal water movement for juvenile frogs, and use a more powerful external or internal filter for a tank with adult frogs.

    • 4

Maintain a water temperature of approximately 75 degrees Fahrenheit during nighttime and about 82 degrees Fahrenheit during daytime. Place a heating pad under the tank or use an aquarium water heater to achieve the proper temperature.

    • 5

Feed your frog companion a diet of live insects, such as crickets, earthworms and roaches. Feed juvenile frogs on a daily basis and feed adult frogs up to three times per week. Give your frog companion as much food as the frog will eat in one sitting.
