Defense Mechanisms
-
Guppies, small goldfish and other fish with no natural defenses are easy prey for the frog. An Albino Clawed Frog can catch and eat without any causing harm to itself. When shopping for a fish to occupy the same aquarium as your frog, be mindful not to spend money on something that will be gone within 24 hours. Fish with spines along their bodies, such as a knife fish, will be able to survive unharmed.
Large Goldfish
-
If you desire to have a goldfish in your aquarium, you must be sure it is larger than the frog and, therefore, not in danger from consumption. If your African Clawed Frog is three inches long, keep in mind it can eat a goldfish that is the same size.
Algae Eaters and Bottom Feeders
-
An algae eater or bottom feeder can live with a frog without a fuss due to its docile and somewhat odd behavior. Because it eats algae off the tank walls, these creatures do not seem as appetizing as other small fish or pre-made frog food. These types of fish also grow to be quite large and will not be under any threat from the frog.
Constant Feeding
-
The most important thing you can do when owning a frog is to ensure it is never hungry. By constantly feeding the frog --- but not overfeeding, of course --- you are making sure your frog is not actively looking for food and disturbing its aquarium companions. A hunting frog is a hungry frog.

What Fish Live Well With an Albino Clawed Frog?
The Albino Clawed Frog is native to the swamps of Africa and is more commonly known as the African Clawed Frog. This amphibian's lengthy life span of 20 to 30 years makes it a wonderful pet. The problems with this frog are its massive appetite and taste for fish. To keep fish in the same environment as the frog, you must take a few precautionary measures.
