How fast do tree frogs move?

The exact speed at which a tree frog moves can vary depending on the species of tree frog, as well as factors like temperature and terrain. However, in general, tree frogs are not exceptionally fast movers. They are more likely to hop or crawl than run, and their movements are typically slow and deliberate.

For instance, the American green tree frog (Hyla cinerea) has a maximum hopping speed of about 1.2 meters per second, which is equivalent to approximately 2.7 miles per hour. Other tree frog species may have similar or slightly different hopping speeds.

When tree frogs are in danger, they may jump or glide to safety, but these movements are usually short-distance and not sustained for long periods. Tree frogs primarily rely on camouflage and stillness to avoid predators rather than relying on speed to escape.
