Are African dwarf frogs kept in salt water?
African dwarf frogs (Hymenochirus boettgeri) are freshwater species and should never be kept in saltwater. They require a well-maintained freshwater aquarium with stable water parameters, including pH between 6.5 and 7.5, water hardness between 5 and 15 dGH, and temperature range of 75 to 82°F (24 to 28°C). Saltwater environments are not suitable for these frogs and can lead to severe health problems or death.
