What do freshwater frogs eat?

Freshwater frogs have a fairly diverse diet which can include any of the following items:

- worms.

- beetles and larvae.

- grasshoppers.

- caterpillars.

- flies.

- mosquitoes.

- spiders.

- snails.

- small frogs.

- salamanders.

- small fish.

- algae.

- detritus.

Most frogs primarily hunt live prey which may or may not move while some feed almost exclusively on plant materials.
