Instructions
Verify the sex of your adult gecko. Male leopard geckos have visible pores above the vent and two noticeable bulges where the tail meets the body. Females lack the pre-anal pores and have bulges that are much less defined.
Hold the female gecko so her underside is facing up and gently bend her backward.
Observe the skin above the vent on each side of the leopard gecko's underbelly. You should be able to see one egg on each side through the thin skin. The eggs appear as round (in the early stages of pregnancy) or elongated (in later stages) white objects surrounded by pink blood vessels.
How to Tell If a Leopard Gecko Is Pregnant
Leopard geckos are extremely popular as pets, primarily because of their multitude of color morphs and easy-going temperaments. The relative ease of breeding leopard geckos is also a contributing factor. Professional breeders and pet owners can be successful when it comes to breeding geckos. Because geckos will produce eggs (usually a set of two) throughout the breeding season, they are often prolific breeders.
