Day geckos are native to Madagascar and its surrounding islands in the Indian Ocean. There are also far-removed day gecko populations in the Andaman Islands, South Africa and Tanzania.

Day geckos live in warm to hot climates and most prefer their habitat to be extremely humid, though the day geckos in southwestern Madagascar prefer a dry climate.

Day Geckos Habitat
The day gecko is a member of the lizard family. There are about 25 known species of day gecko, which are unlike other geckos in that they are active during the day, not the night.
