How to Feed Pink Geckos

Whether your gecko is pink, green, blue or yellow, you need to feed it the same basic staple of nutritious insects such as crickets and mealworms. Crickets are the most nutritious, but geckos enjoy the occasional mealworm as well. The amount and frequency of food you feed your pet gecko will change as it gets older, so make sure to keep track of its age.

Instructions

  1. Crickets

    • 1

Feed crickets tropical fish flakes, vegetables or orange slices about 12 to 24 hours before you plan to feed them to your gecko.

    • 2

Dust the crickets with a calcium supplement.

    • 3

Feed the calcium-dusted crickets to the gecko twice a day when the gecko is months old and reduce the frequency to twice a week when the gecko is over 7 months old.

    Mealworms

    • 4

Pull or snip the heads off a few mealworms.

    • 5

Place the headless mealworms live in a shallow bowl.

Serve the mealworms to your gecko about once a week.
