Who was the engineer of snowy mountains scheme?
The Snowy Mountains Scheme is a hydroelectric power system in south-eastern Australia. The scheme was designed and overseen by the Snowy Mountains Hydroelectric Authority, a statutory corporation with the Australian Government and New South Wales Government as shareholders. The first Snowy Mountains Scheme Act was passed by the Australian Parliament in 1949. Dr William Hudson acted as the Commissioner of the Authority from its inception in 1949 to 1957, and is thus remembered as the engineer and driving force behind the scheme's first decade.
