What does a peregrine facon do?

Peregrine falcons are raptors, or birds of prey. They hunt by diving down on their prey with extreme speed. Peregrine falcons are capable of reaching speeds of over 200 miles per hour (320 km/h) during these dives, which are also known as stoops.

This extreme speed and agility allow them to catch their prey, usually small birds such as pigeons, doves, or starlings. Peregrine falcons may also feed on larger prey such as ducks and geese. They typically snatch their prey in mid-air, and then carry it to a perch where they can eat it.
