How is the fig seed dispersed?

The fig seed is dispersed by animals, such as monkeys, birds, bats, and humans, who consume the fruit and deposit the seeds in new locations. When larger vertebrates eat the fruits (syconia) they break up in their digestive tracts, but larger seeds are unaffected.
