How do you raise guppies?

1. Set up a tank

- Minimum size: 10 gallons

- Water parameters:

- Temperature: 72-78°F

- pH: 6.8-7.8

- Hardness: 10-30 dGH

- Decor:

- Live plants

- Driftwood

- Rocks

2. Purchase guppies.

When choosing guppies, look for healthy fish that are free of disease and have good coloration. It's also important to choose a variety of males and females.

3. Acclimate the guppies to their new tank.

To acclimate the guppies, float their bag in the tank for about 15 minutes. This will allow the water temperature in the bag to slowly adjust to the tank water temperature. After 15 minutes, open the bag and allow the guppies to swim out into the tank.

4. Feed the guppies.

Feed the guppies a high-quality diet that is specifically formulated for livebearers. Feed them small amounts several times a day.

5. Maintain the tank water.

Keep the tank water clean and free of debris. This can be done by regular water changes and by using a filter.

6. Monitor the health of the guppies.

Keep an eye on the guppies for signs of disease. Common diseases in guppies include ich, fin rot, and bacterial infections. If you notice any signs of disease, treat the fish immediately.

7. Enjoy your guppies!

Guppies are peaceful and beautiful fish that are great for beginners. Watching them swim around and interact with each other will bring you hours of enjoyment.
