Will guinea pigs fight until they are dead?

It's extremely unlikely that guinea pigs will fight to the death. While they can be territorial and aggressive, their natural instincts and physical limitations make it highly improbable for them to fight until one of them dies.

Here's why:

* Guinea pigs are not predators: Unlike some animals, they aren't built for fighting. Their teeth and claws are designed for nibbling and digging, not for causing serious harm.

* They lack the physical strength: Guinea pigs are relatively small and fragile. They lack the power to inflict fatal wounds on each other.

* They are social animals: Guinea pigs prefer to live in groups. Even when they fight, they usually try to establish dominance rather than kill each other.

* They can get injured: While they might not die, guinea pigs can get injured during fights. These injuries can range from minor scratches to more serious wounds that require veterinary care.

What to do if your guinea pigs are fighting:

* Separate them immediately: Remove them from each other to prevent further injury.

* Identify the cause: Was it territorial, over food, or a change in the environment?

* Provide separate cages: If the fight was over territory, give them separate cages.

* Introduce them gradually: If you want to reintroduce them, do it slowly and carefully, ensuring they are in a neutral environment.

Remember, it's always best to consult a veterinarian if you have any concerns about your guinea pigs' health or behavior.
