- Guinea pig cage
- Paper towels
- Rubber gloves
- Medical mask
Instructions
Wear a medical mask and rubber gloves to avoid breathing in or handling waste.
Move the guinea pigs to a safe area, such as a box or the floor of a safe room.
Remove the lid of the guinea pig cage carefully and wash it with a pregnancy-safe disinfectant.
Pour the soiled guinea pig bedding into a garbage bag, making sure not to spill any or get it on your skin.
Wash the inside of the guinea pig cage using a pregnancy-safe disinfectant, then dry the cage thoroughly with paper towels.
Fill the cage with guinea pig bedding and furniture, and replace the cage lid.
Place the guinea pigs carefully into the cage and lock it up.
Wash your hands thoroughly after removing the rubber gloves and before taking of the medical mask to avoid breathing in any dust.
