Instructions
Make tunnels. Cut the bottom from an oatmeal container or a cardboard tube of any kind. Your guinea pig will love walking in and through this little tube. Place more than one together and give your guinea pig a tunnel.
PVC pipes also make nice tunnels for your little pets.
You can also roll poster board, cardboard and heavy paper together and glue with nontoxic glue for another way to make a tube.
Make chew toys. Give your guinea pig some sticks or pine cones from outside. They love the different textures of these natural items and they help to keep their teeth filed down.
Give your pet some paper. Guinea pigs find wads of paper interesting and can chew on and play with one for hours. Paper towel and toilet paper tubes are also favorites of guinea pigs.
Make hideaways. An empty box is a great place to start. This is one of the easiest toys you can make for your guinea pig. Open the ends and place the box in your pet's pen. Cut doors in an upside-down shoebox. If the box is big enough, it will serve two purposes for your pet. First, it will give him a nice place to hide and it will also give him something on which he can chew.
Open a paper bag. Like a box, a paper bag can bring your guinea pig lots of entertainment. Paper bags are perfect hideaways for thee little animals and they can nibble on them.
Old clean flowerpots also make great hideaways. These make perfect spaces to watch the world go by.
Make life interesting. For something different, create a pile of scrap fabric for crawling around. Guinea pigs love investigating and exploring things. A pile of old fabric makes a great plaything for your guinea pig.
