How many times a year can muck be spread?

There are no specific limits on the number of times per year that muck may be spread. However, there are regulations that must be followed when spreading muck, such as:

- Muck must not be spread within 10 metres of a watercourse, spring or well, or within 50 metres of a lake, reservoir or bathing water.

- Muck must not be spread on frozen or waterlogged ground.

- Muck must not be spread on land that is used for grazing animals within 21 days of spreading.

- Muck must not be spread in a way that causes a nuisance to the public.

It is also important to note that some local authorities may have their own specific regulations on the spreading of muck, so it is always best to check with your local authority before spreading any muck.
