Instructions
Provide your hamster with a large cage with a specialized hamster wheel that it can use to drain its excess energy. Give your hamster a specialized hamster nest box or a small cardboard box to hide and sleep in. Fill this with specialized hamster bedding to enable your pet to get comfortable.
Build a large, secure hamster pen for your pet to run around in and explore, when you bring it out of its cage. Place toys in the pen, including special hamster toys, such as bridges, tubes and seesaws. Provide cardboard boxes and toilet paper tubes, as your hamster will enjoy hiding in these and chewing holes in them. Get your hamster out of its cage every day to handle it and to allow it to exercise and play. Do this in the evening, as hamsters are nocturnal and are more active at night.
Spoil your hamster by feeding it healthy treats, such as small pieces of fruit and vegetables. Foods that your hamster will enjoy include blackberries, banana, carrots and cooked rhubarb. Do not feed your hamster citrus fruits.
