Mixed Grains
-
A robo hamster's diet should consist mostly of grains, usually in the form of a commercial mix or commercial pellets. You can mix the grains yourself, but it can be difficult to ensure that the hamster is getting everything that it needs from a homemade diet.
Proteins
-
A small amount of protein can be a useful supplement for a robo hamster's diet. Protein can take the form of cooked ground beef or chicken as long you have rinsed the meat to remove excess grease. Boiled or scrambled eggs or low-fat cottage cheese are also good sources of protein.
Your robo hamsters may enjoy eating live insects from the pet shop, including grasshoppers, mealworms, and crickets. Dust the live insects with a vitamin supplement to enhance their nutritional value. Robo hamsters eat a largely vegetarian diet, so limit animal protein treats to once a week.
Fruit
-
You can feed your robo hamsters very small amounts of fruit as a treat. Some acceptable fruits include apples, bananas, mangoes and melons. A weekly treat of fruit will be all a robo hamster needs, however, since giving it more can cause diarrhea.
Vegetables
-
Robo hamsters need fresh vegetables to stay healthy. Supplement their diet with small amounts of carrots, chard, broccoli, cucumbers or sweet potatoes, but exercise restraint to prevent overeating and diarrhea.

Foods for Miniature Robo Hamsters
According to Hamster Club, robo hamsters, also known as Roborovski hamsters, are the smallest and fastest hamster species. They are skittish hamsters that are not easily tamed, but they are simple to care for. Understanding the robo hamster's food requirements is an essential part of caring for this small pet.
