Instructions
Draw out a simple maze design on a piece of scratch paper. This helps you envision different pathways, decorations and elements -- such as paper towel tubing tunnels -- that you want to include in the maze.
Cut the base of the maze from a piece of cardboard. Use a ruler to measure the dimensions of the base and record the size. Use these measurements to cut the walls for the maze.
Glue on the walls by covering one edge in glue and standing the wall directly on the floor's outer edge. Continue holding the wall down until the glue sets, which takes about one minute depending on materials and temperature. You should be fine so long as the walls can stand on their own. Continue gluing the walls in the same manner and also gluing the sides where the walls touch. Use white craft glue for this part of the project. This type of glue adheres strongly to paper and other porous materials.
Cut pieces of cardboard based on the design you created on paper. All maze borders should be the same height as the outer walls already glued onto the floorboard. Next, glue the maze boarders to the maze floor. Continue adding pieces of maze borders until you successfully duplicate the design you illustrated in Step 1.
Decorate your maze. Options include stickers, painting the maze and adding different maze elements. In addition to decorations, you can also place your animal's favorite toys or food to find inside the maze.
