Hatchling (0-2 weeks)

* Eyes are closed

* Body is covered in down feathers

* Completely dependent on parents for food and care

Nestling (2-6 weeks)

* Eyes open

* Body is covered in pin feathers

* Begins to eat solid food

* Starts to learn to fly

Fledgling (6-12 weeks)

* Fully feathered

* Able to fly short distances

* Still dependent on parents for some food and care

* Begin to learn to talk

Juvenile (12-18 months)

* Reach adult size

* Continue to learn to talk

* Develop their own unique personality

Adult (18 months and older)

* Fully mature

* Can live for up to 20 years in captivity
