How do you keep hamster bites clean?

Hamsters have very small teeth, so in most cases, a hamster bite will cause only minor damage to your skin. However, any time you have a bite, it is important to clean the wound to prevent infection:

1. Wash your hands with soap and warm water.

2. Rinse the bite with clean water for at least 5 minutes. If there are any pieces of teeth lodged in the wound, carefully remove them with tweezers.

3. Apply an antiseptic, antibiotic, or antibacterial cream to the bite to help prevent infection.

4. Cover it with a clean, dry bandage.

5. Monitor the bite for any signs of infection such as increasing pain, swelling, redness, warmth, or drainage. If any of these occur, seek medical attention.
