How old are when they start laying?
Chickens begin laying eggs when they reach maturity, which typically occurs between 18 and 24 weeks of age. However, this can vary depending on the breed of chicken. Some breeds, such as Rhode Island Reds, mature earlier and may begin laying eggs as early as 16 weeks of age. Other breeds, such as Plymouth Rocks, may take longer to mature and may not begin laying eggs until they are 24 weeks old.
