How many pandas were there in the world?

It's impossible to give an exact number for how many pandas there are in the world. The population fluctuates, and it's difficult to get an accurate count of wild pandas, especially in remote areas.

However, we can give you some information:

* Estimated wild population: The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) estimates that there are around 1,800 giant pandas living in the wild.

* Estimated captive population: There are also a significant number of pandas living in captivity, primarily in China. This number is around 600.

Important note: Giant panda populations are still considered endangered due to habitat loss and other threats. Conservation efforts are crucial to their survival.
