Why daedalus made wings for himself and his son?
Daedalus created wings for himself and his son, Icarus, to escape from their imprisonment on the island of Crete. King Minos had held Daedalus and Icarus captive after Daedalus helped the queen, Pasiphae, give birth to the Minotaur, a half-man, half-bull monster. Knowing they could not escape by sea, Daedalus fashioned wings from feathers, wax, and string, one pair for himself and one pair for Icarus.
